Vernacular Modernity
Vernacular Modernity is a interpretive classification node in Kayffa's museum taxonomy, grouped under Themes. It applies when the asset, entity, collection, or region has clear evidence for this lens through visible content, captions, provenance, OCR, linked entities, or editorial review. Use it to connect archival material across records without turning a named person, place, work, organization, publication, or event into a category; named records should remain Entities and be linked to this reusable classification when appropriate.

Usage
Use when an asset, entity, or collection is substantially about Vernacular Modernity, or when this lens helps a curator retrieve related records without turning a named identity into a category.
Exclusions
Do not use when Vernacular Modernity is only incidental, or when a named person, place, organization, event, publication, or work should be modeled as an Entity instead.
